Affiliate Disclosure: Look, I'm working my ass off delivering value to you. So, yes this blog is monetized through affiliate products. They are true recommendations and if you purchase them, I probably earn a commission (at no additional cost to you).
Today we are going to be talking about Affiliate Marketing On Quora, and how to actually use Quora effectively for your affiliate marketing business.
As a lot of you may already know, Quora is a great place to get traffic, alongside the other best traffic sources.
You can promote your business for completely free, however, you need to do it the right way.
Otherwise, you will just get banned quickly and lose your account.
This is because Quora doesn’t want tons of people just spamming their business on their platform.
If you do spam your content too much, you will get shut down by the Quora moderation very quickly.
So, let’s find out the ethical way to promote your business on Quora.
What Is Quora and Can You Use It For Affiliate Marketing
Quora is a completely free Question & Answer platform, where you can ask a question and people will answer them.
It is the most popular question & answer platform in the world and there are new questions being asked every minute.
This makes it a great traffic generation tool, simply because of how much traffic is available due to its popularity.
You can ask whatever you want, and you should get an answer. (Unless it’s a really stupid or inappropriate question)
However, we can also answer questions which is what we are going to be talking about today.
The way it works is you are presenting an answer but you are linking to whatever you are marketing as it is either the answer or the answer in more detail.
The problem is that there are a few rules that you NEED to follow, otherwise, you will get banned as I mentioned earlier.
If you do follow these rules and write well-written and thorough answers, then Quora can be a great tool for affiliates.
So make sure to take a good read through this article so that you have a good idea of how to use Quora for affiliate marketing.
Is Affiliate Marketing On Quora Possible?
Yes, a lot of affiliates use Quora to boost their affiliate marketing business, but it’s important that you don’t use affiliate links in your answers.
This is a rule that we will talk about later.
While you might be thinking that Quora must be useless if you can’t use affiliate links, that is not the case.
In fact, it is a tool that is extremely helpful for affiliates. I say this because I actually use it myself for my affiliate marketing business.
All without breaking any sort of rules or being unethical in my answers and promotions.
I get tons of traffic from Quora for free each month, because I write 5-10 answers per day.
Sometimes, these answers can get thousands of views which gives me tons of exposure.
Is Affiliate Marketing On Quora Profitable?
Yes, it is very profitable.
However, as it is a type of free traffic, you have to stay consistent at it before seeing any results.
Also, the profit won’t necessarily be a monetary profit instantly, it will more often be something that leads to a monetary profit.
This could be email leads, a boost in the search engine, visitors to your website.
Saying that sometimes it can be a monetary profit by having affiliate links in the pages that you are linking too.
Overall, affiliate marketing on quora is very profitable simply for the number of clicks that you get to your website.
The number of clicks also gets a snowball effect as time goes on, this is because people will still be viewing your old answers too.
That is why if you stay consistent with your answers, you can see a huge increase over time.

Benefits Of Using Quora For Affiliate Marketing
Now, let’s have a look at the benefits of using Quora for affiliate marketing.
There are a few that I wanted to highlight so that you can see how much value there is in using Quora as an affiliate.
1. It’s Free!
Let’s be honest with the cost per click on just about any ad network rising and rising, it’s nice to get some free traffic!
Well, with Quora if you stay consistent in answering then you can actually get TONS of free traffic, which will usually lead to even more free traffic.
So, yes Quora is a very beneficial free traffic generation tool that we can use.
2. It’s pretty easy…
You don’t need to have any technical skills, all you need to do is write some answers.
I assume if you have your own online business that you can write.
That is why Quora is something that we can all use to grow our affiliate marketing business.
3. Snowball effect
Next on our list of benefits of utilizing Quora for affiliate marketing is the snowball effect.
As I mentioned earlier, if you stay consistent and keep writing answers on quora linking to your pages, then you will slowly start to feel a snowball effect.
This is because when people in the future type this same exact question, they will find your old answers again.
Or sometimes people will just be scrolling through that topic and then they will find your answer.
Now, if you keep on writing answers and keep adding more answers, then you will get traffic from your new answers and your old answers.
Also, sometimes people will follow you as well which means they get a notification every time you answer questions.
All this just lead to a huge snowball effect over time.
4. Search Traffic
This next benefit actually breaks down into two separate search traffic benefits.
The first benefit is the fact that it is a form of search traffic.
When somebody is looking for an answer and comes across the question that you have answered, then that is search traffic.
This is because they are actively looking for an answer which increases the conversions.
The other benefit is the fact that it helps boost your SEO rankings, despite the links being “no-follow” links.
They are still helpful for your SEO because it helps google recognize your articles, as well as the little factor that no-follow links play in SEO.
Getting Your Quora Account Set Up
In order to answer questions on Quora, you will need to have a Quora account.
Head over to Quora and create an account.
You can either sign up using your email address, Google account or social media profile.
Once you have signed up, you will have to choose your interests.
I recommend that you choose some interests which are related to your blog.
This way, your feed will be packed with questions that you can answer and link to your affiliate content.
Otherwise, you might always be too late to answer some questions or even miss a few.
Of course, you don’t want this to happen which is why it is important to choose interests that are relevant to your blog.
At the top of your dashboard, you will see the notification section.
If anybody requests your answer, upvotes your answer or shares your answer this will go into the notification section.
This is useful because when somebody requests your answer they will probably have a look at it if you do answer and give it an upvote.
Often these early upvotes can help push our answers to the top which will then get more upvotes, more views, more exposure to our link.
There is also the “answer” section which will list all of the newest questions that are available in your interests.
It’s a great place to find new questions that you can use to link to your affiliate webpage.
The last section that we have not spoken about yet is the “spaces” section of the header.
“Spaces” is just a section with topics that you can use to scroll through topics.
Personally, I don’t use the “spaces” section, because I don’t find it too helpful.
Connecting Quora To Your Other Social Networks
If you have any social media profiles for your business, then I recommend that you connect with Quora.
Because then you can easily share your answers to your social networks which might drive some engagement on your answer.
This will then give your answer a boost.
How To Ask A Question
If you do want to ask a question, you can do so by clicking the “add question” in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard.
You can ask whatever you want, but Quora doesn’t really like duplicate questions so it will first search for any previous questions that are the same.
Again, this is another reason why your old answers will gain continuous traffic which will help the snowball effect.
However, for an affiliate asking a question on Quora does not have too much value, which is why we will be focusing on answering questions.
How To Answer Questions On Quora
This is the most important part of this whole guide.
Our answers are what will drive the traffic to our webpages.
To answer questions, we can just click on the “Answer” button and have a look at the questions.
Whenever you see the one which is relevant to your affiliate webpage, then go ahead and answer them!
Another way to answer questions on Quora is to search for them using the search bar at the top of the page.
However, personally I haven’t had too much success answering old questions because often your answer will get buried underneath answers which already have good views and engagement!
It’s also worth noting that Quora is made for high-quality answers that will help the user who asked the question.
When you answer questions on Quora, you should not focus on promoting your page, but instead creating a helpful answer that will actually help the user.
That is the key to success on Quora as an affiliate.
How To NOT Get Banned On Quora
Now let’s look at how to use Quora ethically as an affiliate and of course, how not to get banned.
The first and most important rule is: No Affiliate Links
Yep, that’s right affiliate links are not allowed to be used on Quora.
If you use them, your answers will be deleted within 20 minutes and after one or two warnings you will get banned.
So, what do we do instead?
The best thing to do is to link to your blog article, in which you can have affiliate links.
To be honest, I think this is better anyway as you can get an email lead for every person that visits your blog.
With the average email lead value being around $1 per month that alone makes it pretty profitable.
It will also help your SEO a little and you still have the chances to earn commissions, so it’s pretty beneficial for us.
Next, we need to focus on the User who is reading our answer.
It’s important that we don’t just answer questions like this: “Hi there, if you would like to build an email list just check the link below it will talk you through everything”
That is not a high-quality answer.
A lot of the questions on Quora will be very open.
That means you can write a good descriptive answer but in your answer, there will be some places where you can link to your content.
We will talk about this in the section about writing good answers with links to your content.
However, for now, it is just important that you understand that on Quora you need to focus on writing high-quality answers that will actually help the user.
That’s what makes Quora as user-friendly as it is.
Offering a lot of value first is beneficial for us marketers anyway because it will help increase trust which will make them more likely to check out any websites that we link to or recommend.
The next rule is: NO Copying & Pasting
Everything that you put into your Quora answers has to be original and can not be copied from anywhere else on the web.
It all has to be freely written by you. However, you can include sources where you obtained the information in your answer, which in this case can be yourself.
You should also know that you are not even allowed to copy & paste your own content, it has to be truly unique.
How To Use Quora For Affiliate Marketing
Now, let’s get into using Quora for affiliate marketing.
So, as I said earlier you are not allowed to use affiliate links.
But that doesn’t mean that Quora is useless for affiliate marketing.
So, how do we use Quora for affiliate marketing?
It’s simple you link to your existing webpages in your blog which contain affiliate links.
You can also have an email pop up on your site, this will increase the value of each visitor that comes through Quora.
I wouldn’t recommend linking to Funnels or landing pages, because I tried it about three or four times, and every time my answer was removed.
The best thing to do is just to link to your blog as either a source or a recommendation.
I would also recommend that you don’t link to your site in every single answer, otherwise this may look spammy.
Another way to not look spammy is by linking to other content creators as well, that way it won’t seem like you are simply using Quora to promote your own site.
On Quora, you want your answers to be as valid as possible.
As an affiliate myself, I like to write 5 answers per day because this really boosts the traffic that I get to my site.
Let’s put it like this… after 60 days of writing 5 answers per day, you will have 300 Answers.
Let’s say on average you get 10 Clicks from each answer, although usually, it’s a lot more because sometimes you can get 100 clicks from one answer.
That’s 3000 Visitors! On most ad networks such as Facebook and Google, this would cost you around $3000-$6000!
As you can see Quora is a great place to boost your traffic, for completely free.
How To Write Good Answers But Build In Links
Now let’s talk about how we can write high-quality answers but still build in our links.
There are a few different strategies that I like to use, and they all work as well as each other.
The first strategy is just including yourself as a source, which is pretty simple, yet effective.
However, you still can’t just copy and paste content from your own page, despite it being yours. Quora only allows original answers.
The next strategy is to answer the question in detail, but offer your page as even more detail if they need it (i.e if you would like to learn more about X topic, there is a full guide here)
This way you are just giving them the option to read more about it if they are interested in the topic, which they obviously are otherwise they would not have asked the question.
If the question that they are asking is very broad, you can also have multiple topics within your answer and for one or two of them, you can link to your own blog.
The key is just to be as open as possible to create a good user experience for the reader.
If the user who is reading the answer will want to learn more about the topic, they will visit your site.
Length Of Answers
There is no perfect length for answers on Quora.
However, as I said earlier I recommend that your answers are as thorough as possible.
You should aim for a minimum of 200 words. Also, you should make sure that your answer is packed with quality, there is no point just trying to fill your answer with a load of nonsense.
Just try to answer the question with the highest quality possible.
Bonus Tip: Sneaky Strategy
As a little bonus tip, I wanted to include my “sneaky strategy”.
This strategy involves having two separate Quora accounts.
One of them which you use to ask the question and your main account which you use to answer the question.
The strategy is to ask a question, where the answer is clearly outlined by one of your articles which you can then link to.
You can answer this question perfectly, and then even give it an upvote with the question account.
This way, you will have the benefit of an early upvote and as you have outlined the perfect answer, you should get more coming in due to other users seeing your answer as a helpful answer.
However, I am 99% sure that this is against the terms and conditions of Quora and can also get you banned.
Although, I must say that I have used this strategy myself when I started using Quora to promote my articles.
I wouldn’t use this strategy in the long term though, maybe once or twice, just to get a little bit of traffic.
Or you could use this strategy in a certain period for example once a month.
Recap Of Using Quora For Affiliate Marketing
Overall, Quora is a great tool to generate free traffic for affiliate marketing.
The key of using Quora for affiliate marketing is to write high-quality answers that focus on answering the question in the best possible way.
User experience is a big factor when using Quora.
Quora themselves put a lot of value in user experience, and if your answers don’t provide good user experience, then they are likely to just get removed.
If this happens too much you will eventually get banned.
So, just write great answers while linking to your content and it will help you sell more affiliate products!
