By the way, these are totally ranked in order and there are some significant differences between them which we are going to cover a little later on. There are also some other great SEO tools, but these are by far the best all-in-one SEO solutions on the market.
Firstly, we have the undisputed champion, SEMrush.
SEMrush is known in the SEO industry for providing a tremendous amount of both quality and quantity when it comes to its features. Whether you are looking to use it for your keyword research, link-building, on-page optimization, or even for your technical SEO and site health, SEMrush does the job.
In fact, it even outperforms a good 90% of its competition in the features individually. What I mean by this is, for example, the keyword magic tool inside of SEMrush is better than all other keyword research tools on the market, despite the huge list of other features they offer.
I think overall, it’s going to be extremely hard to make a case for any other all-in-one SEO tool vs SEMrush.
It’s also no surprise that some of the biggest companies in the world such as eBay, Booking.com, HP, and Quora use and trust SEMrush for their SEO campaigns.

Should You Use SEMrush?
You should use SEMrush if you are:

Your experience level also does not matter as there are courses to help you rank your site. Plus, the courses alone are worth more than the price of the software.
In the second spot is Ahrefs.
Ahrefs is also an all-in-one SEO tool, but one thing it really does well is everything to do with backlinks. It has the largest database of backlinks, so it can’t be competed with, in that regard.
However, when it comes to anything to do with keywords, SEMrush has the upper hand and by quite a good margin. Plus, Ahrefs lower plans are also severely limited in what keyword positions you can see and things like that.
One of my friends uses Ahrefs for client link-building and he’s on the $99 per month plan and can’t even see keyword positions over 20 which is extremely annoying.
However, don’t get me wrong, Ahrefs is still a fantastic tool, and if you are looking to do any type of mass client link-building you should probably be using it.
The only reason it’s behind SEMrush is because of how good SEMrush is, not because Ahrefs is bad or anything like that. I’m just not a big fan of the limits it has and the keyword tools as the traffic and difficulty data seem just a little off compared to other tools like SEMrush.
Ahrefs also comes with great technical SEO tools that help you monitor your site health, but again not quite as advanced as SEMrush.
Why Ahrefs Is The #1 Tool For Backlink Data
It simply has the biggest database.
But, that’s not all, they also have some great features to combine with this huge database of links. For example, if you were performing broken link building campaigns, you could find all the broken links of a website with a click of a button.
Then, create new pieces of content for those broken links, contact the website with your new content, and earn yourself some nice links. Conversion rates of broken link building campaigns are usually great as you are offering some type of value to the person who you are asking for a link.
There are also so many other great features for link-building and monitoring backlinks. Although, personally, I find them a little overwhelming and over the top, as I don’t do any link-building client work.
If that’s something you do, consider going for Ahrefs. But, if you don’t stick to SEMrush, as it has everything you need in terms of backlinks, plus a lot more in everything else.
In the third spot, we have SEO Powersuite which is a great tool too.
The main limitation of it in my opinion is that it is not cloud-based. This means you have to download the software and open it on your computer.
And, if that wasn’t bad enough, they have four apps that need separately downloading too.

SEO Powersuite gives you tremendous value in terms of data for:
- Keyword research
- Backlink monitoring
- Technical SEO
It can also feel quite slow at times when it’s fetching the data and lacks in ease of use. Plus, you also have to download it onto your desktop which is quite annoying as I mentioned earlier.
Still, it offers a great cost-effective solution that should not be written off.
Next on our list is Mangools which is also one of the best all-in-one SEO tools.
Mangools SEO tools include:
- KW Finder
- SERP Checker
- SERP Watcher
- Link Miner
- Site Profiler
The keyword finder is one of the best on the market, it’s almost as good as the SEMrush keyword magic tool. I find they are both the most accurate as well in terms of difficulty.
Other than that, the features are pretty standard. SERP checker & SERP Watcher perform as you would expect and are quite standard.
The only thing that in my opinion needs some improvement is the link miner and also the site profiler. I find the data to be a little off sometimes or missing which therefore affects the site profiler which displays metrics based on the data.
One thing I also noticed about Mangools is that the keyword finder can take forever to load which I am personally not a fan of.
Moz gets 5th place. That’s right, 5th place.
This might sound a little crazy to some of you, but I think Moz is the most overrated all-in-one SEO tool on the market.
I have some friends who are deeply into SEO and do it a lot more than me and guess what? They say exactly the same.
The metrics inside of Moz are kind of annoying, as people talk about them like they are traffic. I can go and purchase a GSA blast for $5 and will have an insanely high Moz DA, but my site will never rank.
It’s the same with that stupid “spam score”e they have. Remember I told you about my link-building friend earlier?
He got a link for a client from a site that had 6K organic visits per month, but the Moz spam score was 51%. The client flipped out and demanded a refund for this reason.
Well if Google is sending this site 6,000 visitors per month, what makes Moz think that it’s spammy?
For some reason, it’s always the people who don’t really know a lot about SEO who love Moz. I’m not an SEO pro myself, but I have some basic knowledge around it through running affiliate blogs and I can tell you that I would never in my life pay $100+ for a Moz subscription.
Is It That Bad?
And, I haven’t even talked about the data yet.
First of all, the backlinks. The backlink data is alright, once it updates around 5 months after Ahrefs and SEMrush. Ahrefs is usually the quickest then SEMrush and a couple of later Moz will show up the links too.
The real ugly side of Moz? The keyword data and ease of use.
Firstly, the keyword data is so off. Keyword data is usually a little off, but it is so off. Keywords that I was getting 100+ visits per month from were showing up in Moz as 0 searches per month, while others would at least show 50-100.
Normally, when something is really hard to use it’s for a reason and has some sort of special power or benefit behind it. This power or benefit is yet to be found with Moz.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good tool, but it doesn’t really compare to the rest of this list.
Ubersuggest is kind of still in development to be fair and I think it could have been above Moz if you consider the pricing.
Its data is inaccurate, especially the backlinks and keyword difficulty.
However, it also has the following benefit:
- It’s low cost
- Keyword suggestions are great
- Volume is fairly accurate
It does also have some tools for technical SEO, but I find it to be mostly wrong or useless notices. For example, it flags my site for duplicate content and a whole load of other errors, even though the errors are not problems for Google.
If I had to sum up Ubersuggest in one sentence it would be: Good for keyword ideas, terrible for backlinks.
