What Is a Micro Niche in Affiliate Marketing?

A micro-niche in affiliate marketing is when you’re selling someone else’s product targeting a particular audience. This usually makes the niche potential a little smaller, but its benefit is that it’s got a lot less competition.

Not only does that make it perfect for beginners, but even more experienced affiliate site owners like to use micro niches to build up easy passive income. Once the site is ranking, you can make a bank while you sleep.

There is a ton of equipment you can sell, and some of it is very high priced which makes the excellent potential for high EPCs.

Plus, you could even plan your content and keywords out in this period and then export it to a google sheet… And write the blog posts.

But yeah, let’s dive in.

1. Open SEMrush

The first step of this method is to open SEMrush. In case you don’t know, on the left side, we got the menu where you can see the keyword explorer and domain explorer. The keyword explorer is where you find keywords.

While the domain explorer is used to check your own or competitors’ keywords.

Whenever you find keywords you like, you can add them to a list that puts them into your keyword manager, which you can use for planning.

2. Head over to Keyword Explorer

What we are going to use for this tutorial is the keyword explorer. So on the left sidebar, open it up, and you should see a screen like this:

3. Type in Affiliate Keywords

Next, you want to type in specific affiliate keywords such as:

  • Review
  • Best
  • Vs.

This will then make SEMrush show us all the keywords it can find using these terms. Of course, most of these will be affiliate keywords.

4. Filter To Keyword Difficulty 0-14

From here, you can filter the keywords to show difficulty 0-14. And then, you can click on the CPC or traffic to sort for the highest to be at the top.

This will enable you to find affiliate keywords that are super-low competition… And A LOT of them.

As you can see in the list below, we already have many micro-niche ideas in this list. Now you can take them and analyze the competition by checking out the DR and seeing how many backlinks they have.

5. Get a list of ideas and check out what else they’re ranking for

Whenever you find a statement that you find attractive, you can add them to a list… So you can later consider them when you want to build a site.

You can also take the URLs of the top-ranking results and put them into the domain explorer. This allows you to find the other keywords they’re ranking for, which you may want to use for your micro-niche affiliate site.

6. Choose a niche

You just need to choose one of the niches and plan out the keywords you want to rank.
