Rocket.net Review: Is It Any Good?

Affiliate Disclosure: Look, I'm working my ass off delivering value to you. So, yes this blog is monetized through affiliate products. They are true recommendations and if you purchase them, I probably earn a commission (at no additional cost to you).

There are many managed WordPress hosts out there. But I recently came across Rocket.net, and have set up a copy of my site there to see if it’s any good.

Throughout Rocket.net review, we’re going to take a look at what this platform has to offer to see whether you should make the switch from your current WordPress host.

At the end of the article, I’m also going to show you how you can actually test your website’s speed on their servers.

This will allow you to see whether your website would be faster with Rocket.net.

About Rocket.Net

Rocket.net review

Rocket.net is a newly founded company that offers managed WordPress hosting. They promise to offer simple, fast, and secure hosting for WordPress sites.

In case, you don’t know what managed hosting means, it basically means that certain parts are taken care for you (i.e managed).

This includes parts of your website management such as:

  • Automated backups
  • Site Speed
  • Malware protection
  • Automated Updates
  • FREE SSL certificates

The main point of managed hosting is to create less hassle for the customer.

But, I prefer managed hosting because of the speed mostly. And, Rocket.net does not disappoint in this aspect. But, we’ll talk more about that later on.

What Other Services Do They Offer

As I’ve already mentioned, their primary offer is the managed WordPress hosting. But, they also offer other types of hosting which I have described below.

Reseller Hosting

Reseller hosting as the name suggests is where they white-label their service, so you can resell it.

Rocket.net reseller hosting includes custom payment gateways, invoices, and lots of other features to help you sell. What’s cool about reseller hosting is that you can choose your own profit margins by setting the price.

If you’re charging someone to build their website, you can charge them $100-$250 per month for maintaining it, while only paying $25 per month. Not bad.

You can even create custom packages to help you create profitable offers. If you do own a service business such as a web design agency, this could definitely be of interest to you.

WooCommerce Hosting

Everyone knows a faster website, converts better. Rocket.net has a page-speed guarantee which is that your site will be faster when hosted with them.

For eCommerce, that’s pretty huge, as it means your conversions will be higher. Rocket.net‘s WooCommerce hosting helps you build an optimized store and gives you various features to help you do. You’ll have a speedy and secure store when hosting your store with Rocket.net.

Rocket.Net Features

Here’s a list of the features Rocket.net has to offer:

  • Free Enterprise CDN
  • Built-in Caching
  • Google Font Optimization
  • Brotli Compression
  • Website Firewall (WAF)
  • Malware Scanning
  • Malware Patching
  • Brute-force Protection
  • Weak Password Prevention
  • Automated Bot Protection
  • Simple Control Panel
  • Automatic Updates
  • Enterprise Servers
  • NGINX + PHP 7.4
  • Daily Backups
  • Global Edge Network
  • 99.99% Uptime
  • 24/7 Support

I understand most of these terms are quite technical. But, they are also unique.

First of all, their CDN is an enterprise CDN, meaning they have many more servers around the world. This then places your website as closely as possible to the visitor.

Built-in caching will also help your website load much faster.

Plus, it will also save you some money as you won’t need to go for an external paid caching solution.

They also beat most other WordPress hosts in terms of security. Most other WordPress hosts do not offer any type of Malware scanning.

Rocket.net on the other hand offers Malware scanning and patching which is always good as it will help your website stay safe.

Another thing that caught my eye was that they backup your website daily.

Most other managed WordPress hosts only back it up, every 14-28 days, so that is good too. This alongside brute-force protection and various other security measures contribute to the fact that they are probably the safest WP host out there.

What About The Interface? Is it Easy To Use?

Yes. I was surprised when taking a look around the dashboard how incredibly easy to use the platform is. I also like how they let you know how close you are to your limits.

I’ve tried a fair few hosts, and a lot of them don’t actually tell you or it’s quite hard to find. That can be extremely annoying.

But yeah, launching a WordPress site with Rocket.net is incredibly easy and can be done in a couple of clicks. It’s also easy to access your billing, and you can even set up sub-accounts which can be very useful.

In case you are wondering why I only have 61 visitors, remember this is a copy of my site as I was just testing it out at the time.

Free Migrations

Something quite common for hosting companies especially managed ones is that they offer free migrations. Rocket.net is no different.

The process is simple, you just give them access to your site, and they do it for you. When I had a version of my site copied, they did it for me too as I’m pretty clueless when it comes to anything technical.

Summary of Features

The features are extremely good. In summary, you’re going to get a hosting service that is not only faster but also more secure.

They even guarantee that your site will be faster on their service, or you get your money back.

Your site will also be hosted on an Enterprise CDN meaning it will load quickly all around the world.

They also place your website as closely as possible to the servers which also contributes to the lightning-fast speed.

Rocket.Net Pricing

Despite them being more secure, and faster with a guarantee, they are also affordable.

At the moment, you can get a $1 trial which is part of their launch special.

This is pretty cool, as hosting companies barely ever offer trials.

As you can see in the pricing table above, they have plans to suit businesses of all sizes. If you just have one website, you can go for the starter plan.

But if you need a few more WordPress installs, you can go for one of the higher plans, so there is an option for everyone.

See If Your Website Will Be Faster With Rocket.net

Of course, just because they say your website will be faster, it doesn’t mean it actually will. So, I wanted to show you how you can check whether your website will be faster if hosted with Rocket.net.

If it is, then it might be worth switching, as better page speed usually means higher conversions. In theory, it would pay for itself, but chances are Rocket.net is probably even more affordable than your current host.

Anyways, here’s how to test out the speed:

  1. Sign up for a $1 trial at Rocket.net
  2. Contact support to ask to migrate a CLONE of your website
  3. Test page speed using GTMetrix, Pingdom, etc.

If it’s faster, you can make the switch and increase your conversions. And if it isn’t, then you can cancel the plan within the first 30 days.

Rocket.Net Review: Conclusion

Despite rocket.net being a new platform, they have some outstanding hosting options available.

By hosting your site with them, you can make sure that your site is not only more secure but also faster.

Plus, I don’t think there are any other WordPress hosts out there that offer a guarantee that your website will be faster.

If you would like to test them out for yourself, you can do so by clicking the link below and getting a $1 trial which is available for a limited amount of time.
