Why Do You Need to Submit Website to Search Engines?

If you want your website to have an online presence and be able to appear on the first pages of any research engine, then you need to make sure that these search engines know about your website’s existence.

And surely without existence, you can’t count on people reaching out to you with organic traffic. More importantly, without people, you can’t survive as there will be no conversion, no revenue.

Search engines incorporate these types of systems called bots also known as web crawling in which creates tremendous indices of the world’s vast web.

These programs depend mainly on links from different pages to uncover them and get them indexed. With that said, if other pages do not have links to your website, then your website does not exist in that engine search index. And in this process, the automated indexation will not take place. The other alternative to this is to the indexation manually.

Why? here is why you need to submit website to search engines manually

  1. First, it’s not complicated nor difficult to submit your website to search engines for indexing. It costs less effort and less money.
  2. Second, Search engines may not know it all. And by submitting it manually, you are helping yourself and them to start ranking your website for keywords.
  3. Third, yçou can utilize useful tools generated from these search engines and access some data that can help you with keyword research in performance analytics. You will get an idea of how your website is doing in this world search realm.

However, you have to keep in mind that this is just one step of many you have to take in order to get the top ranking of search engines. It does not mean that once you submit your website to one of these popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, or Bing, that you will be automatically ranking in the first 3 pages.

It is too early and nearly impossible to say so. It takes a lot of time and patience to get there, and you are one step ahead.

How Do You Know if Your Website has Been Indexed on Search Engines Such as Yahoo and Google?

To know whether your website or your content page has been indexed or not, all you have to do is to enter your website address in the Searching box on the Google homepage.

If Google shows your website, it means that Google recognizes its existence, and thereby it is indexed. However, if your website does not show a search result page, then you may need to submit your website to Google again.

Another way to check your website indexation is by simply entering the following in Google or Bing search engine: Type this formula: Site:yourdomain.com

You can use the advanced search operator “site” on your homepage or any other page on your website. You can use the same advanced search operator site on Bing, too. If you don’t get any results, that indicates that your website has not been indexed by Search engines.

Also, you should keep in mind that if your website is not indexed, you will probably get your site signaled with a noin-dex meta tag. In other cases, your website can be blocked from Google bot crawl or by Stopped by .htaccess File.

To avoid that remove “noin-dex” directives and re-submit your website to search engines. However, you don’t need to worry too much about this as it is very rare to happen.
