WishPond vs Kartra: Which One Is Better For You?

Struggling to find the right software for your online business?

Well, this WishPond vs Kartra comparison will help you find it.

We are going to take an in-depth look at the features and pricing of both platforms to help you find the option best for you.

Kartra vs WishPond

WishPond vs Kartra: Main Differences

The main differences between WishPond and Kartra are that while WishPond only offers landing pages and email marketing tools, Kartra offers a lot more features. Kartra also offers membership site functionality, helpdesks, affiliate management, video hosting, and calendars.

This means Kartra is an all-in-one solution for your entire online business, while WishPond is only for your landing pages and email marketing.

Despite, the huge difference in features, their pricing is almost identical.

Quick Note On Refund Policies

WishPond has an extremely unusual refund policy.

Firstly, there are no monthly plans at all, you have to pay annually.

And, on those plans, there are no refunds, other than a 50% refund if you cancel and refund in the first two months.

Kartra offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which I like as it shows confidence in their product.

Kartra Features

Kartra has a gigantic list of features.

We will just take a look at the core features and what they have to offer (Still a huge list!). In my Kartra review, I go much more into detail about them if you would like more information.

Page Builder, Templates & Sales Funnel Tools

Firstly, we have the Kartra page builder, templates, and sales funnels tools.

Kartra allows you to easily build out the pages of how you want them to look.

They do this through their templates, as well as their easy-to-use drag and drop builder.

Kartra has over 500 different templates that you can easily customize to suit your business.

Kartra Templates

As you can see in the image above, Kartra does have templates for pretty much any page you can think of.

Plus, Kartra also comes with comprehensive sales funnel tools such as order bumps, one-click upsells & downsells.

You can also split-test any pages you create and add popups or sticky bars.

Kartra Pages gives you everything you need to convert a visitor into a sale.

Email Marketing

Kartra also comes with great email marketing tools including:

Kartra automation workflows.

Kartra’s autoresponder is pretty much a normal autoresponder.

Using Kartra, you also won’t need an external helpdesk tool, as there is one inside of Kartra.

This is a great little tool and it allows your customers to contact you easily, improving their user experience.

Affiliate Management & Marketplace

Kartra allows you to recruit and manage an army of affiliates for your product.

But, that’s not all.

You also get access to the marketplace, where affiliates can find your product (if you want them to) and apply to become an affiliate.

Plus, if you ever wanted to find a product that you want to sell, you can also apply to become an affiliate.

Membership Sites

Kartra also allows you to manage your membership sites.

You can also drip-feed the content and get advanced analytics.

This is great, in case, you ever want to sell or give away courses.

Video Hosting

Using Kartra, you can also host your videos.

This means you won’t need an external service such as Wistia or Vimeo.

Again, great for your courses.

Next, we have Kartra calendars.

This is just a great little tool to keep you managing your days effectively and on the same dashboard as the rest of your business.

You can use this to make sure you don’t miss appointments, collect payments on time, etc.

WishPond Features

WishPond does not quite have as many features as Kartra, but it still has a couple of useful ones.

Landing Pages & Templates

Firstly, we have the Landing pages and templates.

WishPond comes with some great templates which are also easy-to-edit.

On these templates, you also get pop-ups and sticky bars if you need them.

Their editor is also nice, but it reminds me a little of Elementor Pro.

Email Marketing

Just like with Kartra, you also get an autoresponder included, which is pretty much a normal autoresponder.

It includes split-tests, automation workflows, and lead tagging, so there is no need for an external autoresponder.

Social Contests

Here’s a feature that makes WishPond a little more unique.

WishPond allows you to easily create referral campaigns, social contests, and all sorts of competitions.

This is great as it allows you to generate User-generated content.

You can do this manually with all landing page builders, but maybe not as easily and not with as many features.

Custom CSS

Lastly, we have another unique feature which is Custom CSS.

This means, your pages will have a little more flexibility and customization if you use WishPond.

How Much Do They Cost?

Now, that we have seen what they have to offer, let’s take a look at how much they both cost.

I want you to keep an eye on the price increase as your contacts increase.

Because, even if you may only need WishPond’s features, you may be better off with Kartra.

I will explain that later on after we have had a look at the cost of both software.

Kartra Pricing

Let’s start with Kartra

Kartra has four main plans, if you’re in need of a custom Enterprise plan, you can contact their support.

But, what’s cool about Kartra is the only difference between the pricing plans is the resources and a special feature called Kartra agency.

This means other than that feature, you get all the features across all plans.

Kartra pRicing

If you’re wondering what Kartra agency is, it’s a feature that lets you manage your clients’ accounts.

WishPond Pricing

Now, let’s take a look and see how much WishPond costs.

Wishpond pricing

While you may think great just $49 per month, take a look at the increase in price as your contacts increase.

In “Everything you need” you are already paying the same amount as with Kartra’s starter plan for the same amount of leads.

It’s actually even more, as you pay annually, meaning with Kartra you get the 25% discount.

Why Kartra Has Much Better Value

Kartra has much better value than WishPond.

As soon as you reach 1,000 leads which will probably be no more than a month or two, Kartra costs the same price.

When you scale up with WishPond, Kartra actually costs less (See image below)

Plus, you have to pay annually with WishPond.

Here is a list of features that Kartra offers, but WishPond does not:

  • Membership Sites
  • Order bumps, (one-click) order bumps & downsells
  • Helpdesks
  • Affiliate Management
  • Video hosting
  • Calendars
  • Behavior-based Dynamic content
  • Monthly payment plans

Kartra does this for the same or an even smaller cost.

Keep in mind a separate membership site builder usually costs at least $50 per month, plus all the other features could easily be added $200-$500 per month if you were to use WishPond.

And, Kartra does all of those features for the same price as WishPond.

Kartra Extended Trial (30 Days!)

If you do want to get a Kartra trial, I got something cool for you.

Normally, Kartra only offers a 14-day trial, but if you use the instructions below, you can get a 30-day trial.

Step 1: Use this link

Step 2: Click “Start your trial”

Step 3: Wait for the page to be fully loaded, pretend to navigate off the page to trigger the exit pop up

Step 4:  Accept the 30-day trial exit pop up.

Final Thoughts

For me, Kartra is the clear winner.

Kartra offers a lot more features for a smaller price.

I often, try to find scenarios where one product is better than the other, but the only advantages WishPond has over Kartra is:

  • Social contests
  • Custom CSS

That’s it and if you compare that to the gigantic list of features Kartra offers which WishPond doesn’t, it’s a clear win for Kartra.

WishPond was founded in 2009 and still has similar features to when it launched.

Kartra wasn’t launched until 2018, but by then the software market was different.

Something I also like about Kartra is that they are constantly looking to improve so that they outperform their competitors.

Anyway, I hope this article has been helpful in your decision.

You can always give them both a go if you want to, as they both offer a trial period.

13 Best Funnel Builder Software: Which One Is Best For You?

Unbounce vs WishPond: Which One Is Best For You?

If you want to convert your visitors into leads and customers, you will need a landing page.

That’s why today, we’re going to take a look at two of the most popular landing pages out there, Unbounce and WishPond.

We are going to take a look at the features and what exactly they have to offer, as well as the cost they come at.

Plus, I will also show you some similar alternatives you may want to take a look at too.

Unbounce vs WishPond

Unbounce vs WishPond: Main Differences

The main differences between WishPond vs Unbounce are that while Unbounce has a little more advanced and powerful landing page features, WishPond also comes with email marketing tools. Both options have an easy-to-use drag and drop editor which is also flexible.

There are also some key differences in pricing, as WishPond starts at a lower price, but the price increases with your contacts, so it can quickly add up.

Don’t worry, I will be showing you some great alternatives later on which also include email marketing features.

As you can see, they both offer some bad refund policies which are fine as they have a trial, but just make sure you are aware of that.

If you stay on the last day of the trial with either of these options, make sure you are 100% sure that you want to stick.

That being said, let’s take a look at the core features both of these solutions have to offer.

Unbounce Features

Unbounce is one of the most powerful landing page solutions on the market.

They specialize in landing pages and allow their users to easily create landing pages while having a lightning-fast site speed.

Advanced Landing Page Builder

Firstly, Unbounce has an advanced landing page builder.

I say advanced because compared to most of the other landing page builders out there like ClickFunnels or LeadPages, you get a little more customization and flexibility.

Unbounce editor

With that customization and flexibility also comes a learning curve, but it’s still very easy to use.

Although most landing page builders let you edit the title, metadata, and alt text, ranking the sites is usually pretty hard due to the speed of the pages.

However, Unbounce pages are lightning-fast and we will talk about why later on.

But, that’s a pretty cool feature.

Pop-Ups and Sticky Bars

Inside of Unbounce you also get to create unlimited pop-ups and sticky bars.

They do have a publishing limit, but it depends on the plan you are on.

So, while, you can create unlimited, you can only have a limited number at once published.

Speed Boost and CDN

This is something I like about Unbounce

Pages you create on Unbounce have the speed side of things already managed so that they follow Google’s best practices (without you having to mess around with them).

Unbounce also has 5 world-wide data centers and uses Amazon’s Cloud-front CDN (Content delivery network).

In short, your pages will load fast.

Big brands such as Campaign Monitor or Later use Unbounce and they would not be using it if the pages were slow.

Smart Traffic

Lastly, we have the smart traffic feature inside of Unbounce.

This is AI technology which sends your customer to the most relevant variation of your page (based on them).

It takes just 50 visits for the technology to discover who fits what variation best and it will automatically optimize for that.

Maybe quite an advanced feature, but definitely an effective one.

WishPond Features

Now, let’s see what WishPond has to offer.

Landing Page Builder

WishPond also has a brilliant landing page builder.

But, it’s not quite advanced as the landing page builder you will find in Unbounce.

That’s nothing bad, as Unbounce offers some of the most advanced features on the market.

Personally, I feel that WishPond’s editor feels a little like Elementor Pro.

That’s also nothing bad.

Referral Campaigns and Social Promotions

This feature makes WishPond a little more unique.

You can do all kinds of these promotions including:

  • Photo contests
  • Giveaways
  • Referral Campaigns
  • Bonus Entry Conests
  • Instagram Hashtag Contests
  • Coupons
  • Vote Contests
  • Leaderboard Contests
  • Photo caption contests
  • Video Contests

This is a great feature to help you gain some engagement, referrals, and user-generated content.

While you can build this in manually into most landing page builders, WishPond will make it easier and give you more advanced options.

Pop-Ups & Opt-In Bars

Just like Unbounce, Wishpond does also come with pop-ups and opt-in bars which will let you collect your leads email addresses.

Email Drip Campaigns

WishPond also comes with email drip campaigns a.k.a automation workflows.

Just like many other landing page builders, their autoresponder is a normal autoresponder as it comes with automation workflows, lead tagging, and split-testing.

In case, you’re thinking that you have to go with WishPond because of the email marketing, stick with me until the end.

I will be showing you three alternatives that let you do the same or even more for the same price (or less).

Custom CSS

WishPond also lets you add your own custom CSS.

I’m not a coding guy myself, but if I was, I’m sure this feature would be useful.

It’s definitely nice to have that added customization and flexibility.

How Much Do They Both Cost?

Now, that we know what they have to offer, let’s take a look at the pricing plans.

Unbounce Pricing

Unbounce’s pricing plans changed yesterday.

Before that, they had much nicer pricing plans in my opinion.

Pricing before yesterday (24th of June):

You had a nice number of visitors, features, and unlimited domains across all plans.

New pricing plans (As of today, 25th of June:)

As you can see, they have put heavy limits on all the resources such as visits, conversions (collected emails or other goals), and custom domains.

They used to be almost unlimited in all plans and now they look horrible.

Fun fact: Up until yesterday, you used to get more visitors, conversions, and domains on the standard plan as you would on the new scale plan.

That’s a big change in pricing and it’s quite negative if you ask me.

WishPond Pricing

Anyways, let’s talk about WishPond’s pricing.

But, there is a similar scenario here which I am not impressed by.

All you’re essentially getting are landing pages and email marketing tools.

Paying $99 per month for 2,500 leads and these features, is expensive.

And, it gets worse as you build your list.

Wishpond pricing

25,000 leads for $343?!

I am going to show you an alternative which is almost half the price for the same features (in fact, a little more).

Plus, a different alternative that gives you many more tools for the same price.

Unbounce and WishPond Alternatives

I usually don’t like to include alternatives, as I feel if you have come across this comparison, these are the products you are interested in, but here I think its suited.

There are simply much better options out there for most people.

That being said, WishPond and Unbounce have their own use cases, so let’s take a look at them first.

Use Unbounce If:

Use Unbounce if you need the unique landing page features (smart traffic, CDN) and are in an industry with high-value leads.

The reason, I say high-value leads is because you don’t get a lot of conversions on each plan.

Paying 10 cents to 40 cents per email collected, plus your autoresponder charges, plus your ad spend is just too much, unless your leads have a high-value.

Don’t get me wrong, Unbounce probably has one of the most advanced landing pages on the market, but the cost is just too high compared to its competitors.

Try Unbounce For Free! (14 Day Free Trial + 20% Off)

Use WishPond If:

Use WishPond if you want to use the social contests and referral campaigns they have to offer.

Although you can do this manually through a lot of effort with most landing pages, WishPond will give you some advanced options and make it a lot easier.

Other than that, there are simply better options out there.

Try WishPond For Free (14 Day Trial)

1. Kartra

Kartra png

Kartra offers everything Unbounce and WishPond offer for the same or an even smaller price.

Remember WishPond’s pricing on the 25,000 leads? Yep, $343 per month.

Here’s what Kartra offers for $299 per month  (25,000 leads included too)…

Kartra offers a true all-in-one solution but instead of just email marketing and landing pages, you also get:

And, they charge LESS than WishPond.

You also get access to all of these features in their starter plan for $99 per month and up to 2,500 leads which is the same price as WishPond’s “Everything you need plan”.

Kartra offers a lot more than everything you need for the same price. (See what I did there?)

Kartra 30 Day Trial

Normally, you can only get a 14 day trial for Kartra that costs $1.

However, for a limited time, you can get an extended 30-day trial by following the instructions below. (Desktop only)

Step 1: Use This link

Step 2: Click “Start your trial”

Step 3: Once the page is fully loaded, pretend to navigate off the page or switch tabs.

Step 4: Accept the exit pop-up offering a double trial

2. GetResponse

The second alternative is GetResponse.

GetResponse offers more than what both Unbounce and WishPond offer.

Here is the list of features that GetResponse offers:

  • Email marketing (better than WishPond)
  • Webinars
  • Landing Pages
  • Autofunnels (cool feature will help you build your sales funnels)
  • And more…

GetResponse can be a great start for beginners.

Their pricing plans start from just $15 per month, but to get all the good features like:

  • Email automation workflows
  • Funnels
  • Sales pages

You need to be on the plus plan which starts at $49 per month.

But, unlike with WishPond the pricing won’t drastically increase when you collect leads.

While Wishpond’s everything you need plan ($99 per month) lets you build your list to 2,500 leads, you can build your list to 5,000 subscribers with more features for $79 per month using GetResponse.

However, GetResponse doesn’t quite beat Kartra once you do scale up, as on Kartra Gold (25,000 leads), you pay $299 per month, while on GetResponse’s professional plan, you pay $255 per month.

And, of course, all those added features like membership sites, affiliate management, and better sales funnel tools are worth more than $44 per month.

Nonetheless, both Kartra and GetResponse are great alternatives in terms of pricing, features, and quality.

Try GetResponse For Free (30 Day Trial, No Credit Card Required)

Final Thoughts

Both Unbounce and Wishpond do have their use cases, but I think for most people, Kartra and GetResponse will offer much better solutions.

You simply get a lot more features for the same or less cost and the quality of the features is as high.

Either way, all options do offer a trial.

Feel free to make use of those first to see which option is best for you.

Kartra vs Unbounce: Which One Is Best For You?

When it comes to your landing and sales pages, you probably want to create the best pages possible.

So, you wanted to compare Kartra vs Unbounce and that’s exactly what we are going to do in this article.

We are going to be taking a deep look into what exactly these two platforms have to offer, how they benefit you, and the prices they come at.

After this article, you will be able to make an informed decision between the two platforms.

Kartra vs Unbounce: Key Differences

Kartra vs Unbounce

The key difference between Kartra and Unbounce is that Kartra offers a lot more features allowing you to run an entire online business for a similar price. However, Unbounce is a little more flexible when it comes to creating landing pages and also has faster loading pages.

Both are great pieces of software for their own uses, it just depends on what you are looking for.

Kartra Features

Kartra png

Kartra is packed with tons of features including:

  • Autoresponder
  • Page builder
  • Checkout features
  • Membership sites
  • Helpdesks
  • Affiliate Management
  • Calendar
  • Video Hosting

As you can see, its a true all-in-one platform.

Email Marketing

Lets start with Kartra mail, the autoresponder that comes with Kartra.

It’s pretty much a normal autoresponder, it comes with automation workflows, lead tagging, and the deliverability is great too.

You can also split-test any emails you want to send.

Due to the quality of this tool, you will definitely not need a separate autoresponder when using Kartra.

Page Builder (Landing Pages, Sales Pages, etc.)

Kartra also lets you build your pages.

No matter, what sort of page you are trying to build, you can do it with Kartra.

Kartra comes with over 500 customizable page templates allowing you to build your pages and funnels quickly and easily.

Kartra Templates

Also included in this feature are pop up and sticky bars.

Kartra Checkouts

Kartra checkouts allow you to increase your conversions pretty easily.

In Kartra checkouts you get comprehensive sales funnel tools such as order bumps, one-click upsells & downsells.

Membership Sites

There also is no need for an external membership site platform like teachable as Kartra has one inside.

Here you can create and host your membership sites such as your courses nice & easily.

Video Hosting

Wistia? Vimeo?

Won’t need those anymore either as Kartra lets you host your own videos inside of Kartra too.

Kartra also has an internal helpdesk tool that you can use to connect helpdesks so that if your customer needs help, they can shoot you an email quickly & easily.

Affiliate Management

With Kartra, you can also get yourself an army of affiliates that will promote your product.

You can monitor them to see which ones are performing well and which ones aren’t.

What’s also cool about this is that they can use the affiliate marketplace to find your product and apply to be an affiliate.

Lastly, we also have the calendar feature which allows you to keep all your appointments in an easy-to-read calendar.

Unbounce Features

Now, that we have taken a look at what Kartra has to offer, let’s see what Unbounce has to offer too.

Unbounce’s features are much more landing-page focused.

Here are the features Unbounce has to offer:

  • Advanced Landing Page builder
  • Pop-ups and sticky bars
  • Speed-boosts
  • Templates

Advanced Landing Page Builder

The reason I say advanced is that as much as I love Kartra, you get a little more flexibility and customization with Unbounce.

It’s simply more advanced with more features as that’s what Unbounce specializes in.

Unbounce editor

Plus, moving around the elements with Unbounce does feel swifter than with Kartra

But, with that also comes a much bigger learning curve.

Kartra is definitely easier-to-use for a beginner.

Pop-Ups and Sticky Bars

You can also create pop-ups and sticky bars and add them to your pages.

This is great as it just helps you get more soft conversions.

But, as I mentioned earlier, Kartra does have this feature as well.

Unbounce does put a lot of effort into website speed and aims to have landing pages load in under 2 seconds.

The website-speed side of things is completely managed from Unbounce’s side of things.

It also has Amazon’s content delivery network which also helps the pages load quicker.

In terms of load speed, Unbounce’s landing pages will load quicker.

How Much Do They Both Cost?

Despite Kartra offering a lot more features, they actually start a the same price.

Let’s take a look.

Kartra Pricing

Kartra starts at just $99 per month.

In the $99 per month plan, you will get access to all the features except for Kartra Agency.

Kartra Agency is a feature that allows you to manage your clients’ accounts.

Other than that, you only need to upgrade when you use more resources (Bandwidth, domains, leads, etc.)

Kartra Pricing

Unbounce Pricing

Unbounce also starts at $99 per month.

The pricing table is pretty long and if you want to see the whole thing, I do suggest heading over to the Unbounce pricing table, where they cover all the different features and integrations included in each plan.

Update: Unbounce has updated its Pricing Plans

Sadly, the pricing plans look like this now…

This is a drastic change.

You used to get unlimited domains, conversions, and more visits on the basic plan than you do now on the “scale” plan.

Now, the pricing is pretty bad and you have to upgrade really quickly.

Plus, this does not even include your autoresponder.

Kartra is much better value.

Kartra vs Unbounce: Pricing Explained

“Why the hell is Unbounce so expensive compared to Kartra as it has a lot fewer features?”

Unbounce offers more and stronger landing-page specific features and resources.

For example, your pages will load faster and you don’t need to upgrade to a higher plan until you’re at 500K visitors.

You don’t have any bandwidth or domain limits and your site will be faster.

Unbounce has a fast & strong server with a CDN powered by Amazon’s CloudFront. that’s why it’s around the same price as Kartra, despite Kartra offering a lot more features.

For high-traffic businesses only looking for landing pages, Unbounce can be a great solution.

If you do have a high traffic business, there is no point in Unbounce anymore after the recent pricing changes.

Kartra only limits you on bandwidth. Usually speaking for every 10GB of bandwidth, you will be able to have up to 10,000 visitors.

I think for most businesses a slightly faster page load speed will not outweigh the benefits Kartra has to offer.

Use Kartra If:

Use Kartra if you:

  •  are looking for a powerful all-in-one marketing solution
  • need any of the added features (autoresponder, membership sites, etc.)
  • don’t like integrating software all the time
  • want to manage your entire business from one dashboard

Normally, Kartra only offers a 14-day trial, but if you follow the instructions below, you can get a 30-day trial. (Desktop only)

Step 1: Use this link

Step 2: Click “Start your trial”

Step 3: Wait for the page to be fully loaded

Step 4: Pretend to navigate off the page to trigger an exit pop-up offering you a double trial for 30 days

Now, accept it!

Use Unbounce If:

Use Unbounce if you:

  • are looking for one of the most robust & flexible landing page solutions on the market
  • don’t need any of the added features Kartra offers and are only interested in landing pages
  • Are fine with the traffic limits

Final Thoughts:

As you can see, both Kartra and Unbounce are great for their own reasons which is why they both made my list of best funnel builders.

While Kartra offers a beginner-friendly solution with many great tools, Unbounce specializes in landing pages to create a robust & flexible solution for businesses of all sizes.

They are both great in their own way and I hope this article has helped you find the right solution for you.

What Is Kartra?

Kartra png

Kartra is an all-in-one marketing platform that is a product by Genesis Digital which was founded by in 2013

However, Kartra did not actually launch until 2018, so it’s a fairly new product.

It offers a great all-in-one platform and is on its way to becoming the most popular page builder simply due to the number of high-quality features it has to offer.

What Is InstaPage

Instapage png

InstaPage is a landing page conversion solution founded by Tyson Quick in 2012.

It offers everything you need to create and manage high-converting landing pages.

Kartra Features

Kartra has a gigantic number of features including:

  • Page builder (Landing, Sales, etc.)
  • Email marketing tools (Comprehensive with all the bells & whistles)
  • Membership Sites (Great for hosting courses)
  • Video hosting
  • Helpdesks
  • Calendars

Plus, all these tools have even more features inside.

Before we jump into the core features, I just wanted to give you a list of the other features.

  • Heatmaps
  • Behavior-Automated Marketing (Dynamic Content based on behavior)
  • Split-testing (Everything, your emails, pages, etc.)
  • Comprehensive Checkouts (Order bumps, one-click upsells, etc.)
  • Kartra Agency (Silver plan & up only, allows you to manage clients accounts)
  • Share Campaigns & Funnels
  • Detailed Analytics

Kartra Page Builder & Templates

Firstly, we have a page builder.

Using Kartra you can create beautiful looking pages easily & quickly.

And, that’s not all, Kartra also comes with comprehensive sales funnel tools such as:

  • Order bumps
  • One-click upsells & downsells

It’s one of the best and easiest to use page builders there is and it has great tools to help you convert your visitors into customers.

Kartra also comes with a ton of templates for all kinds of pages to help you build whatever kind of page you want.

With over 100 different templates for you to choose from, you won’t be running out of templates any time soon.

Email Marketing Tools

Kartra also comes with a powerful email marketing feature, Kartra mail.

And, believe it or not, it’s pretty much a normal autoresponder.

It comes with automation workflows, lead tagging and you can split-test your emails too.

So, you won’t even need to integrate with a separate autoresponder.

Your email marketing will all be inside of Kartra.

Membership Sites

Yep, you can host your membership sites inside of Kartra too.

This will be great in case you ever want to host your courses.

And, Kartra’s membership site builder is not like the limited one you get in ClickFunnels, it’s much better.

It has automated member management, a better user experience, progress tracking, and membership site analytics.

Video Hosting

Another great feature inside of Kartra is video hosting.

You can host the videos you use on your sales pages or membership sites inside of Kartra.

This means there is no need for any 3rd party tool like Wistia or Vimeo.

With Kartra, there is also no need for any external helpdesk tool, as it has one built-in.

Kartra helpdesks allow you to provide your customer with the best experience possible.

Kartra also comes with a built-in calendar tool so that you won’t miss an appointment again.

This feature doesn’t only have to be for appointments, it can also help you collect payments on time and just manage your days better in general.

Another great feature by Kartra

Affiliate Management & Marketplace

Kartra also lets you manage your affiliates.

It’s another great tool provided by Kartra, as getting an army of hungry affiliates can give you a huge boost in sales.

But, that’s not all that comes with this feature.

You also get access to the marketplace, where affiliates can find your products & apply to become affiliates, more affiliates = more sales.

Plus, if you wanted to become an affiliate for a product hosted on the Kartra marketplace yourself, you could find it on the marketplace and apply to become an affiliate.

InstaPage Features

InstaPage also has quite a lot of features.

But, the main difference compared to Kartra is that they are a lot more focused on the landing page & conversion-side of things, instead of being an all-in-one platform.

Here are the core features InstaPage has to offer:

  • Landing pages
  • Experimentation
  • Ad Map
  • Collaboration

Landing Pages, Personalization & Experimentation

Firstly, we have InstaPage’s landing pages which I see as their main feature.

InstaPage’s templates look very professional, as you can see in the image below.

But, the landing page templates aren’t what makes InstaPage special, it’s the tools you get for them.

  • Dynamic Content based on all kinds of things (where your customer came from, location, behavior, etc. Kartra has this too, but not quite as advanced)
  • Thor Render Machine (Fastest landing pages on the market, according to them. Is it true? I have no idea.)
  • A/B Testing
  • Advanced Conversion Analytics (a little more advanced than Kartra)
  • HeatMaps (Again, just a little more advanced than Kartra’s heatmaps)

In the enterprise solution which has custom pricing tailored to your needs,  you also get a couple of more features.

However, I haven’t tried that plan myself, so if you would like more information on that, you can head over to InstaPage’s pricing table.

Ad Map

InstaPage’s ad map is also something that you can use to further personalize your pages when running ads.

What it allows you to do is instead of sending your customer to a generic landing page, it allows you to send them to one tailored to the ad they have clicked on.

This also allows you to easily manage your ads and track post-click scores efficiently, without the use of half a dozen spreadsheets.

InstaPage Collaboration

InstaPage also has a feature that lets you collaborate with others.

This is a great feature, especially you own an agency and you are creating the landing pages for someone else.

Everyone you invite can leave comments, but in order to edit the page, you have to go back into the editing feature, which is a bit annoying.

Keep in mind, Kartra also has this feature and you can actually share an entire campaign with others and let them edit it too.

Let’s take a look at the software with which these platforms integrate with.

Kartra Integrations

Although you will probably not need integrations when using Kartra, it does come with a couple of integrations in case you do.

With Kartra, you also get Inbound and Outbound API access, so that will usually be enough to integrate with the software that is not on this list.

But, here is the list of Kartra’s native integrations:

  • BrainTree
  • PayPal
  • Stripe
  • Authorize.net
  • mailgun
  • sendgrid
  • Elastic email
  • Postmark
  • Digital access pass
  • Optimizepress
  • Amember
  • s2member
  • Wishlist
  • Kajabi
  • Twillio
  • nexmo
  • Plivo
  • Google calendar
  • Zapier

So, if you for some reason want to stick to a tool for a specific feature that you used to use, then you can do so with Kartra

InstaPage Integrations

As InstaPage does not have as many features as Kartra, the integrations are a little more important.

Luckily, they do have a long list of integrations.

I’m going to name the main ones, but there are a lot more and if you want to take a look at them, you can visit their integrations page.

Here is a list of InstaPage‘s integrations:

  • Facebook Ads
  • Google Ads
  • Microsoft Ads
  • LinkedInAds
  • TwitterAds

Email Marketing:

  • ActiveCampaign
  • GetResponse
  • Campaign Monitor
  • Aweber
  • Constant Contact
  • MailChimp
  • Mad Mimi
  • E-goi
  • ConvertKit

As I did mention, they integrate with all kinds of software so I recommend just checking the integrations page if you are interested in the integrations.

How Much Do They Both Cost?

Let’s take a look at the pricing plans of both platforms to see which one offers better value for money.

Kartra Pricing

As you can see in the image below, Kartra starts at just $99 per month.

Even, in the Kartra starter plan, you get access to all features, apart from Kartra agency.

The only difference between the three plans other than the agency feature is the resources that you get with each plan.

Kartra Pricing

InstaPage Pricing

InstaPage only has two pricing plans, business, and enterprise (custom)

The business plan starts at $199 per month, or $149 if you pay annually.

I can’t really tell you too much about the added benefits of the enterprise plan, as I have not used it myself.

The business plan’s features are the ones we discussed in the section before.

On the business plan, you can only have up to 30,000 visitors which is quite a limitation, considering the next plan’s pricing is unknown.

If you want to use Instapage due to the landing page features it has to offer and you are anywhere near 30,000 visitors, I would definitely look into how much the next plan costs.

Support, Trials & Refund Policies

Our last category is support, trials, and refund policies just to give you a better idea of what to expect from both platforms.

Let’s start with the support, Kartra has a helpful support team, but there is no live chat feature which can be a bit annoying, but the support usually responds in around 12 hours.

Instapage on the other hand doesn’t have a live chat either, but users have reported that customer support is not very helpful and sometimes even rude.

Considering InstaPage’s price tag of $199 per month, you would really expect better.

Refund Policy

Either way, let’s talk about the refund policy.

Kartra offers a 30-day refund policy while InstaPage just offers a 24-hour refund policy.

Again, 24 hours you would just expect better and it’s also another reason why I prefer Kartra over InstaPage.

Lastly, we have trials.

Both options offer a 14-day trial, but Kartra’s trial costs $1.

Because you have read so far down this page, I just wanted to show you a trick to make Kartra’s trial a 30-day trial, so that you can really give it a go.

Just follow the 30 Day Trial  instructions below:

  1. Use this link
  2. Click start your trial
  3. Once the page is fully loaded, pretend to navigate off the page
  4. Accept the exit pop up offering a double trial

Who Wins The Battle?

Kartra takes the crown for me.

Landing page-specific tools & site speedInstaPage

Yeah, InstaPage may have some small little added landing page features and a slightly faster loading site, but overall that does not outweigh:

  • Membership sites
  • A powerful autoresponder
  • Helpdesks
  • Calendars
  • Affiliate Management
  • Video hosting

For the same or even a smaller price depending on the resources you need.

However, that’s just my take on it, if you need the features that InstaPage has to offer, then InstaPage might be the right solution for you.

Final Thoughts

As you have seen throughout this article, InstaPage and Kartra are both two great platforms.

Due to the huge number of features, Kartra does come out on top for me as I think they outweigh the benefits that InstaPage has to offer.

Nonetheless, InstaPage remains a great landing page conversion solution and it’s popular with big brands & enterprise solutions for a reason.

But, if you’re just starting out, or your business is not quite at Enterprise level yet, you probably want to go with Kartra (Kartra does also have custom enterprise solutions).
